The following steps showcase how to install Devin as the root user via the command line.

Step 1

Ensure that your system is up to date by running the following commands:

  • sudo apt-get update

  • sudo apt-get upgrade

Step 2

Download and start the Devin installer by running the following commands:

  • wget https://download.devin.fm/downloads/install_devin.sh

  • chmod +x install_devin.sh

  • sudo ./install_devin.sh

This will start the Devin interactive installer

Alternatively, if you wish to install unattended, you may install Devin by calling the installer in the following way:

  • sudo ./install_devin.sh --username {fmsadmin username} --password {fmsadmin password} --type {prod / dev}

Step 3

Follow the instructions for the Devin installer. The following questions will be asked, if you have not ran the installer unattended:

  • Credentials for the FileMaker Admin Console account

  • Whether you wish to install a Development or Production server

Please be patient as this installation might take several minutes.

Step 4

After installing a Production server, save the API Key that gets output in the terminal. You will need this when adding the server in the Devin App.

INSTALLER LOGS: If you run into issues installing Devin, please open a ticket here. The Devin installer produces a log file named devin_installer_{Date}_{Time}.log . Please include the output from the log in your ticket.
